In 2002, Herman Miller introduced the PostureFit back support option (shown left) to this "icon" of office seating, the Aeron Chair.The original Lumbar Bar option (shown right) is still available as a popular option. A PostureFit retrofit kit is available for users wishing to try the newer support.

The Mirra Chair, introducerd at Neocon 2003, won the Best of NeoCon Gold Award in the Desk/ Workstation/Task category.

In June 2003, HMI introduced two new finishes and a variety of new Pellicle colors and patterns. New finishes include Polished Aluminum and Titanium. Pellicle offerings now include many new colors in Pellicle Classic as well as two new Pellicle patterns, Pellicle Waves and Pellicle Tuxedo.

The TriFlex back on the Mirra has geometric shapes and spine construction that create flex zones in the upper, lumbar, and sacral areas. The adjustable lumbar lets each user target the chair's back support. a PostureFit is built in to every chair.

Herman Miller continues to add new options to Ethospace Systems to extend it's capabilities, while keeping budget in mind. An Ethospace environment can now adopt a lighter, lower look that balances privacy with openness. Increased air circulation and light penetration make people feel more comfortable and connected to their work and each other.

Elements like open returns, large glazed tiles, and restyled storage units can give a progressive look and contemporary feel to an existing Ethospace environment.
